Pair of Empire Gilt Bronze Three-Light Candelabra
France, early 19th century (circa 1810–1820)
Height: 53cm
An elegant pair of gilt bronze three-light candelabra in the Empire style, each with three scrolling branches issuing from a central stem. The circular bases are raised on lion-paw feet and decorated with a finely cast frieze of alternating flaming torches and rosettes — a classical motif associated with enlightenment and order.
Stamped numbers on the underside (16904, C6278, 499) likely refer to foundry or workshop inventory, used for cataloguing and assembly.
A well-preserved and refined example of early 19th-century French ornamental gilt bronze work.
