PAIR OF EMPIRE STYLE GUÉRIDONS

Pair of Empire-Style Guéridons in Lapis Lazuli and Gilt Bronze, Early–Mid 20th Century.
Dimensions: Height 80cm X 63cm width (measured side to side across the octagonal top).
A distinguished pair of Empire-style guéridons dating from the early to mid-20th century, each featuring an octagonal top and apron inset with striking lapis lazuli panels. The tables are supported by sculptural monopodia legs in patinated bronze, adorned with finely cast gilt bronze mounts in the form of winged griffins. The curved supports converge at a lower stretcher also set with lapis and encircled by classical openwork detailing. Elegant and architecturally bold, these guéridons reflect the neoclassical revival of the period and the luxurious decorative tastes of Empire style furniture.
